Precious Crafts has only 4 posts this year – not because I have not done any crafting, but because I have only posted about them in FB or Insta. Less hassle and less time-consuming on FB & Insta. However, not as long-lasting as the posts here, not as detailed. I am a working mom now, and my current job requires lots of reading and updating of my knowledge. There is something new almost everyday, and not to mention all the things that I didn’t know before – I have lots of catching up to do and the learning curve is very steep.
However, I refuse to let this year go by without one more post. I don’t do as much crafting as before but I am cross stitching a piece for my future niece, also knitting a cardi for her and knitting myself a piece of scarf/shawl for my study trip to Japan. I went a bit crazy a few months ago and bought a few items from SGshop – crochet hooks, knitting needles, yarns, cross stitch items, etc.
I love these yarns because of its wonderful cascading colours – representing artworks, nature and the changing seasons. The colours are so amazing that I couldn’t restrain myself from working on them immediately.
I already used a couple of yarns and knitted hats for my boys. One of them is this:
Last month, when I was informed by my boss that I would have to go to Tokyo in January when the weather is below 10°C, I decided to make myself a scarf, which I like to call a ‘shawl’ because here a scarf is something we use to cover our hair.
Now, the yarn is completely used and I am moving on with the second yarn. As you can see, the colour varies – almost like the changing seasons – from autumn to spring.
I hope it will turn out beautiful. The rest of my finishes, I hope to share next year.
In the meantime, have a very Happy New Year everyone – see you in 2018!
