We are now into the 14th day of 2014 – Happy Belated New Year !
I have really been lazy last December, no posting at all! I voluntarily embraced the holiday spirit and spent time doing things that I seldom do : baking (lots of chocolate cakes & muffins for the whole family), cooking (new recipes every few days), going almost everywhere with my youngest son (he insisted that he’s too grown up for the nursery and demanded to follow me to work), reading (lots of fictions), and a few travelings along the west coast of Sabah.
Although I failed to ace my 2013 cross stitching Plan (a huge red ‘F’ actually), I believe I have managed to finish more (unplanned) projects than the previous years. Maybe it’s because I wanted to follow the Plan so much, that I finished the ‘unplanned’ projects as quickly as I can. However, instead of coming back to the Plan, I landed into another ‘unplanned’ project. Therefore, in my case, some planning is clearly better than no planning at all.
This year, I will make no new plan except to try my best to follow through the 2013 Plans and have some extras along the way, such as some crocheting and sewing (my dear Janone is fast gathering dust). I am still working on clearing my stash of old yarns before getting new ones.
Now, who am I kidding here? I must have had too much sweet cakes for breakfast today! 😀 Actually, it’s not true that I have no Plan at all. I can’t help it – I love to Plan, though I am not obsessed with following it through. It’s like an organized daydreaming. Wonderful thoughts that accompany the mind as it wanders into the lovely world of possibilities…. ahhh…
Basically, in terms of crafting, I plan to :
- be more organized, and use most of what I buy
- refrain from making unplanned and unnecessary purchases
- have less than 7 WIPs at one time (this is the most tricky part for me as I jump into new projects like a hopeless addict)
- teach at least 1 person cross stitching and crochet
- remember to take photos of finished projects (I always forget to do this!)
And yeay – I have officially been accepted into the Margaret Sherry’s Lovers Blog today! I hope to start contributing and stitching MS’s cute designs soon!
Let’s keep crafting & thanks for dropping by! 😀
