Gosh, how swiftly does time flies! We are now in the final quarter of 2013. Yet, so many of my plans for this year have not been achieved. I am so easily side-tracked, especially when I come across cute little x-stitch designs! 😀 No matter, what can be pushed to next year, will certainly stay put in my planner for 2014. In the meantime, IHSW serves as a monthly reminder and motivator for me to keep working on my cross stitchings.
One of those cross stitching plans involves this adorable little panda called ‘Bamboo’ from the Party Paws Family. I started it way in April and then misplaced it and forgotten about it. This was my progress before IHSW (hahaha, this time I remembered to take a ‘Before’ photo):
This blue Aida (I think it’s an 8-ct Aida) was a birthday gift last year from my brother. He bought me a wonderful landscape chart with almost all the floss needed and this blue Aida from a quaint little shop in Tuaran. It turned out that the chart calls for white/cream fabric, preferably 14-ct. So, I used the fabric for Bamboo instead, and there is still some more left.
Now, after hours of stitching dear Bamboo, interspersed with doing the laundry, watching the tv, cooking, etc, on Saturday and Sunday, this is the result:
Most of Bamboo’s cute ear is there, and also the right side of his head. I really don’t like the grids (the green threads), and unpicked them whenever I feel like I don’t need them anymore.
Are you wondering why I have only managed so little? Opps – I have a confession to make – it was hard to concentrate because my mind was actually eager to start on this:
I have been waiting to get my greedy hands on this mag since before Ramadhan, dropping by Times Bookstore every couple of days, that once I bought it (the week before last week), I was eager to start. I have acquired most of the floss, except E310 (not available in the local craft store), but it took me quite some time deciding the fabric. I am out of 11-ct and 14-ct light coloured Aida, so I settled on this pink striped fabric (14-ct). So far, I only managed to stitch this much:
I have skipped doing the grids, too eager to start. So, that’s all for this weekend.
Now, how was your weekend?
