DMC Suppliers in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

I find it a challenge to find supplies for my cross stitching hobby.  However, I am not solely dependent on Ebay, though I have favourite Ebay Sellers.  Kota Kinabalu town is not a desert for cross stithers but an oasis in a desert, so there is still hope.

My favourite spot for DMC floss in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah is Syarikat Meelo, located at A47 1st Floor, Centre Point Sabah, KK and the other alternative (but with fewer choices) is Syarikat Leton (Sabah) Sdn Bhd, 1 Blok E Lrg Tiong Hwa Segama, KK. Still, they don’t provide all DMC threads – only the Mouliné Stranded Cotton Art. 117, and not all 454 colours.  But they also have Anchor floss and another brand that I’m not familliar with.

Meelo also offers the Aida fabric but I don’t think they have Aida 14 and above. The smallest count, I think, is Aida 11. Only plain fabric, no DMC Impressions, Aida band, etc.  But who knows, they might think of expanding their collection one of these days…

As for cross stitch books, they are a rarity here in KK.  Popular/Harris bookstores offers some cross stitch books and magazines but they are quite expensive.  Luckily nowadays, there are online shops in abundant.

    :) seriously, it is challenging to find supplies for craft isn’t it in KK. Been looking for plain shoe clip for weeks now. Am finally going to the net to purchase it.

    Yes, I totally agree, it is very hard to find craft items here in KK. But thankfully, there are now many crafters in Malaysia who offers items for sale.
