I went to my favourite store (Meelo at Centre Point, Kota Kinabalu) on Saturday to replenish my Nona yarn, DMC floss and get some new ones. And I was shocked when I was told that one floss doesn’t exist – DMC 967. I even doubled checked their special DMC shelve/organizer (it’s neat!) to confirm its non-existence. True enough, there was no DMC 967. I thought I’ve made a mistake, but when I checked the chart at home, I was not wrong. I even googled for it. It’s for my Margaret Sherry hedgehog design. I guess the store needs to update their DMC shelves.
I realised then that it’s been a long time since I last updated my DMC inventory. That prompted me to print out the DMC Checklist, and also an extra copy for the store. It’s a shoppers’ list but I use it as a reference for my inventory.
On the checklist are a list of all DMC embroidery threads such as the Variegated, Solid, Color Variations, Light Effects, Satin Floss and Color Infusions Memory Threads. I downloaded the Checklist a few years ago from DMC website and I hope DMC won’t mind me putting it up here for everyone’s convenience. You can download DMC Shoppers Checklist here or you could also visit DMC for more lists and conversion charts. It’s a very helpful site for DMC users.
After a careful inventory of all my floss, I discovered that I have 5 skeins of DMC 645 and triples of some other! Wow, how can that be? It’s a mystery to me… Won’t happen again, I hope.
The weekend was not totally without stitching. I managed to resume my Little Red. Here she was before:
And here she is now:
I have also crocheted a few hexagons, and have lots more to go before I could assemble them, so that’s for next time.
Have a pleasant week everyone! 😀
