Compared to previous years, I’m having fun trying out various types of crochet yarns these past few months – totally neglecting my cross stitch projects, unfortunately. It’s really great fun getting to use yarns of different types and weights, and also getting to use various sizes of crochet hooks. I’m really, really yearning to get myself those wonderful Tulip Etimo or Clover Amure crochet hook sets – need to start saving for those!
After getting myself some Nyamnyam Yarns, I continued adding to my humble collection of crochet yarns. I bought some Korean Milk Cotton yarns from Yarns Wonderland and am having a great time crocheting a baby afghan using an 8mm hook.

Korean Milk Cotton 100gm @ RM7.50 each
The particulars of the yarns are :
Medium worsted weight yarns
Suggested Crochet hook : 3mm
Material : 80% Cotton , 20% Milk fiber
Although the actual recommended crochet hook size is 3mm, I felt more comfortable using 8mm hook. Anyway, there’s a difference in thickness between the multi-coloured milk cotton yarn and the solid-coloured milk cotton yarn, see below.

Notice the difference in terms of thickness?
Nonetheless, despite its thickness the multi-coloured yarn is as light as the solid-coloured ones. It’s such a joy working with these yarns that I re-ordered the multi-coloured yarns.
And I also bought these Amber’s yarns:

Amber’s Yarns 100gm @ RM9.00 each
The details are:
Weight Group : Medium worsted weight yarns
Material : 100% Australian Wool
Weight : 100gm
Suggested crochet hook : 4.5mm to 5.5mm
You know, I’m totally yearning to try my hands on wool yarn and I’ve got my wishes with these 100% Australian wool (but probably not the Merino that I previously wrote about). These yarns have a lovely metallic sheen and I use a 6mm hook for them.

Amber’s Yarn and Nona Yarn
It’s quite bulky too. But the thickness is not very consistent throughout. And it also frays quite easily – I guess that’s proof of it 100% woolen quality.
I also dropped by Ery’s physical shop, Da’Knit, last month. If I had an unlimited budget, I would probably have bought lots, lots more than this:
And this:
And this :
I haven’t started using the Nako Rekor (100% Acrylic) and Nako Vizon Anatolia yarns (100% Premium Acrylic) yet, as I’m still working on a baby blanket using the milk cotton and a few other small projects using chunky yarns. I bought the Soft Fibre Chunky 100gm @RM10 each when I re-ordered the multi-coloured milk cotton.

And I am still contemplating these wonderful Cotton Nyetyarn yarns @ Rm15 each (from Pinkyfrog Shop) – see the colours available.

The details of Nyetyarn yarns are :
Type: 3 Light DK (Recommended Hooks : 3.00mm – 4.00mm)
Weight : 100 gm
Length : approx. 250m
Material : Cotton Wool Soft
Some more wonderful colours from the Nyamnyam collection which I failed to include in a previous post:

There are still many, many more wonderful yarns out there waiting for us all – let’s have fun crafting! 😀
