Who could ignore a Volkswagen when it drives by – especially the iconic Beetle? It’s the cutest vehicle in the world since the day it was created!
I stitched this using a 14-ct Aida and it took me months! A work-in-progress that was so challenging, especially during the backstitch stages. It nearly became an abandoned project for me.
Luckily, my youngest son is a fan of all sorts of vehicle and his interest became a motivating factor for me. He really loves this – flowers and all! I used the pattern provided in Cross Stitcher Issue 238 (Spring 2011), at page 42. The Volks should be pulling a wagon but I wasn’t confident that I could do that much (rightfully so!) so I left the wagon out (though it’s just as cute).
The above is a die-cast Volkswagen Beetle from Cellini Fine Gifts, which unfortunately is sold-out – of course. Remember Herbie? The number 53 love bug is the most memorable fictional car, next to Scooby Doo’s van.
I think all Volkswagen Beetle are cute, don’t you think so too? 😀
