It has been almost 2 weeks since my last posting, and today is already 13.3.13. Such a cool date, and it’s raining here in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. My Tatty Teddy has a few more days to go and I am doing the best that I can. Frankly speaking, I have not been too busy to stitch or blog, but my mind has been occupied by the on-going troubles in Lahad Datu. My deepest condolences to our heroes who have given their lives for the peace and prosperity of Malaysia, and my admiration to our heroes who are currently fighting for us all – your courage is highly valued.
Today I am reminded of an old friend, Agnes. She was the one who revived my interest in cross stitching after a decade of hiatus. It all started when she gave me a lovely aida, which I think is called a ‘Damask’ aida. She said she bought it in Canada when she was visiting her sister. I have never seen such cross stitch fabric before – it looked like silk. So, after a decade of lying dormant, my cross stitching interest was once more spurred into action. This was what I made out of her fabric.
That was in 1997. I am so glad that I got it properly framed and that it has graced the walls of my home (past and current) all the time. Though I have lost contact with Agnes for more than a decade, I am reminded of her kindness every time I see it. I miss you, dear friend.
