I can’t believe that nearly 1 month has passed since my last post. And now we are looking forward to celebrating Chinese New Year! Isn’t it incredible?
Probably due to the extreme and unpredictable weather, many around Kota Kinabalu, including my family, have been unwell – fever, coughing, sore-throat and flu. Thankfully, the worst has passed and now, I can start posting again.
I knitted the above hp cover while nursing my kids a few weeks ago. The pattern was accidental, and didn’t plan to turn my practice piece into a handphone case. I find knitting very difficult, and I admit, it took me a very long time and lots of practice in order to finish that one small case. Absolutely no blocking done, and I love the totally rustic and uneven look of my knitted handphone case.
The yarn was purchased about 5 years ago, and I am really working to finish my old stash and start acquiring new colours. Psstttt …. I am in the middle of ordering a few rolls of yarn, only a few, I promise…. 😀
Truth be told, I am really old-school and resistant to change. If not for family’s whatsapp group, I would not even be using a smart-phone. I prefer the old phones with their buttons sticking out and having only basic functions such as phone, sms, alarm, calendar and calculator. But if not for my new smart phone, I would not discover that I enjoy reading e-books using the phone just as much as reading an actual book.
And my new smart phone also serve as my model – as I find that I enjoy making handphone cases, too. Now that I have learned a new craft (my previous ‘knitting’ experience was totally rubbish!), I am looking forward to trying out new crochet stitches!
Hang on, dear friends, a new handphone case is on the way!
