For those who has never heard of IHSW, it’s a monthly cross stitching activity organised by Random Rambling, and held on the third week of each month, from Friday til Sunday. Interested cross stitchers just need to sign up a few days before the event, when the post is put up by Joysze.
First, my apologies. I failed to post my IHSW report earlier because of a very, very slow internet connection which was made worse by bad weather. I exceeded my mobile broadband internet quota during the weekend and so have to be content with the snail pace, especially when there’s rain and wind. Today, the sun is shinning brightly, and connection seem to be better – I hope.
I started my IHSW weekend on Friday evening finishing this :
and this :
I have been planning to finish those for a while now and last weekend, finally, I had the chance. They are my first experience cross stitching on evenweave and I didn’t manage to do the finishing before Raya. It was merely simple stitching, but required time and concentration. Now, the purses (a souvenir from Bandung, Indonesia) have their owner’s name on. As you can see, I don’t have a knack for embelishments.
Then, on saturday, I continued with my Cutest Ever Kitten. It started like this:
and I would have been too happy to keep on stitching the kitten’s face but had to stop here:
Why? Because somewhere, I have missed a space up and a space on the left. Now, I need to unpick most of the poor kitten’s face. :C Should have stitched the grids, then such mistakes could have been avoided… Most importantly, I hope I’ll have enough leftover floss because the kit doesn’t give the floss numbers.
Despite the devastating blunders on Saturday, I spent some time on my Bags of Fun (Margaret Sherry’s design) on Sunday.
Stitched only the whites:
Didn’t manage to do much, with Cutest on my mind – I wish I had a fairy godmother that could unpick stitches… hohoho!
Hope you all had a better stitching weekend! 😀
