After more than 6 months of putting it on hold, I finally managed to make a pair of felt rose snap clips – thanks to The Purl Bee.
The Purl Bee is one of my favourite sites on learning new crafts. The tutorials provided are very clear and easy to understand, though not necessarily easy to do. It took me more than an hour to finish these rose snap clips – from cutting the templates to the finished rose.
At first, I used the felt materials from my previous project, Felt Daisy, to make this Yellow Rose Hair Snap Clip. As you can see, I did blanket stitches on the clip.
However, on the red roses, I just did simple stitches.
I am happy with both stitches, though the clips do not stick to the hair as nicely (maybe because my felt material is too thick).
These roses took longer for me to complete and requires more stitching. The templates are great. All you need is a printer, felt materials, thread and snap clips. I am sure these lovely roses could be applied on to a lot of other crafts, not merely as a hair accessory.
