Let me start by saying a huge ‘THANKS’ to Ruzanna A. Kadir, who started and maintain Cross-Stitch Malaysia FB page – you’ve provided an excellent platform for Malaysian and international cross stitchers to connect with one another!
Although there are many craft stores in KK city, none truly specialises in providing cross stitching materials and accessories because the demand is not as great as, say, 2 decades ago. Still, I would usually be able to get most of my DMC floss from Meelo at CPS while all other things (e.g. fabric, needles, etc) I source from my favourite online stores.
Now, after I joined the FB group Cross-Stitch Malaysia, my list of suppliers have expanded quite substantially. Cross-Stitch Malaysia is a wonderful group that shares infos, ideas, tutorials, stitching updates, patterns for sale, etc. From there, I got in touch with very helpful, Malaysian-based, online suppliers. Their range of cross stitching-related items are huge, postage is much lower and delivery is swift (depending on stock availability).
Erasable Fabric Pen
I’ve been wanting to get my hands on eraseable fabric pen for quite some time now so that was my first target. I ordered for the erasable fabric pen from Melanie Lee, founder of Yarns Wonderland, at only RM5 each. The pen can be viewed here. Postage was merely RM3 and Melanie also gave me 10 free refills and a thread cutter! I’m so delighted! 😀 First time using a thread cutter – love it!
Next, I felt the need to update my floss organiser. Most of my floss are currently residing in this :
I’m comfortable with the above system (though they look disorganized) but would like to try a different method, for fun and for the sake of experience. Lots of stitchers are using it and it really looks tidier and probably uses less space. So I placed an order with D’Couture House for 10 packs of paper bobbins (20 pieces per pack, RM2 each) and the organizer box (with removable partitions, RM24). Postage was only RM3.
They are pre-order items and took about 2 weeks to arrive. So, when they came last week, I was very happy indeed, and the complimentary gifts (a multi-purpose storage container and an extra pack of bobbins) are very much appreciated.
I only bought the paper bobbins but there are also plastic bobbins and DMC plastic bobbins offered. Perhaps next time I shall try using the plastic bobbins as a sturdier alternative.
Felt Turtle Keychains
It’s almost school holidays for the younger ones, and I wanted to give my girls gifts that they could share with their BFFs. I love the handmade felt turtles sold at the online store of my first and foremost blogger friend, Yati. They are only RM5 each, and I ordered 6 pieces. Postage was only RM5.
The kids were really delighted! 😀 Notice their cute little tongues? The details are exquisite.
And Yati even included a gift of DMC floss for me! A delightful surprise! It arrived with my order for her cute little felt turtle keychains . A huge thanks to you dear Yati! 😀
It is my pleasure to share that Yati has prepared a new edition to the above turtles with more colourful choices, at her store, so please do have a look ya!
Happy crafting everyone! 😀
