2015 – the year when I was hooked to my Facebook account. FB makes it so easy and convenient to write short updates about my crafting activities and then sharing them with groups of people with the same interests. And I also found tremendous pleasure in reading the tips and crafting activities of other members. As a result, I’ve neglected this blog – how irresponsible of me!
Crochet, Yarns, Knitting, Fabric, Sewing – those are some of my 2015 crafting activities. And in between crafting, I also found the time to add these treasures to my yarn stash:
and some more (which I remembered to snap):
Most of the cotton yarns are used to make baby blankets or lapghan, and these new stocks are necessary to finish my wips. I try very hard to minimize my stash as I feel a bit guilty when I see unused stash languishing in boxes. But I do buy new yarns to experiment with such as these lovely acrylic Turkish yarns – Alize Diva:
By the way, I also bought these cotton fabrics, among others:
Some of the fabrics have become dainty handkerchiefs with crocheted edgings while the heavier fabrics have turned into reversible tote bags such as this:
Not to toot my own horns but these handmade totebags are way, way, more durable and stronger than most branded handbags that I have. So far, I’ve used them to carry my laptop and its accessories plus a book or two, and they have not caused me any trouble at all. And they are also machine-washable. And let me repeat – reversible. Perhaps, I’ll share some more details about them later.
Before I forget, I have also managed to improve my knitting skills last year:
And I used my Nako Vizon Anatolia to make myself this wonderful fingerless crochet mitts which kept my hands warm while driving in the early mornings:
In short, 2015 was a very productive crafting year for me. 😀
How was your year?
