Hi everyone! Sorry for the long lapse, I have been terribly ill for 11 days.
It started with a very high fever for 2 days – hands and feet cold, head burning hot, but my body was freezing cold. Then it subsided but my head kept pounding all day long. Hubby did all the housework, etc, while I laid in bed – totally helpless. To make matters worst, my throat showed signs of sore throat and coughing. And there were ulcers forming inside my mouth, on the palate and tongue. My gums also started swelling painfully. The fever came and go as it pleases, and when it persisted for 4 days, I went to the clinic but the blood test turned out ok. By then, I have been subsisting on plain water and gruel for 4 days.
When the fever kept coming back 2 days after my visit to the doctor, I went to the dentist because I was really, really craving for real food. It turned out that I had a wisdom tooth eruption. Ridiculous, right? I am 40 years old, and I have a tooth coming out. I though the wisdom tooth I got extracted 10 years ago was the last one! 😀 After 5 days of antibiotic, I had my first real food last night. I’m planning to take it slow though, as I love being able to fit into my comfy old jeans – I really have lost lots of weight.
Before the fever started, I made this (sorry for the bad quality photos, taken using my simple handphone camera):
Those are the cards that accompanied my gifts for Mom & Dad. I combined a strand of DMC Light Effects with a strand of the usual DMC floss to create some glittering effects.
It took some time for me to get used to the Light Effects, they tangle and fray very easily. Just have to do the stitching slowly, and it went well afterwards without the need to apply baby oil to the floss.
The patterns and kits were from:
It took me a day to finish them and I really had fun doing it. 😀
Hope rain will fall again in dear Kota Kinabalu and the whole of Malaysia soon!
