For my precious friends who are celebrating Christmas this year, I have made up my mind to stitch Christmas cards for them. I have already finished 2, and another nearly completed. This one, I started stitching 2 days ago and struggled to keep myself disciplined enough to finish it. Notice the beads? This is my first attempt, I haven’t grasp the technique yet, but am quite happy with how to turned out.
Another was completed last year, but I didn’t have the time to prepare the card. So, I now have nearly 3 cards to give!
I have enlisted Hubby‘s help to ensure that these cards will be properly made and delivered. I asked him to nag me until I finish it and I have vowed not to buy any new cross stitch magazines, nor do any other projects until I have made at least 4 cross stitched X’mas Cards. And I have visited so many inspirational blogs on cardmaking that my head is reeling with ideas. They are really, really talented!
Finally, I managed to complete 2 cards, by utilizing oval and circle aperture cards. Mind you, these are my first cross stitch cards that are the result of not merely sticking an aida inside a tri-fold card.
As can be seen, my Saturday spent in cutting out those cute captions have not been in vain. I could probably improvise on the layout but, well maybe next time. And look how the same backing papers used for the above card has enhanced the Snow Couple :
Hopefully these cards won’t end up rusty like my last one. Really hope my friends will love their cards , and have a really wonderful Christmas!
