4 years ago, I posted about The Chart Shop, an amazingly wonderful site where you could get many, many small cross stitch patterns or charts for free and those small charts would make perfect cross stitch cards or other small projects.
However, nothing lasts forever, like all things in this world. The Chart Shop is no more, and neither are the charts by Michaels Store. Fortunately, I printed and kept all the charts that I fancied. 😀 Incidentally, while searching for The Chart Shop, I also found other cute sites that also provide cross stitch patterns and backing paper (for cards, etc) for free such as:
I recently came across this delightful and cute website by chance. My daughter likes the patterns and I think they are manageable even for newbies, especially the patterns that requires less than 5 floss. You know me – I love small patterns, they are very hard not to finish!
I can never strike out Cross Stitching.com from my list because their charts are always updated and very trendy. In case you’re interested, do read about it in my previous post .
Another fabulous site that is hard for me to resist is Cross Stitch Collection. They offer free cross stitch pattern and free downloadable patterned papers.
I have a soft spot for Precious Moment’s doe-eyed children, which are among the things in my life that have inspired me to start this blog. I have written about my PM figurines more than once, PM cross stitch booklets and even the WIPs. They are the sweetest things!
Sometimes, I just keep the charts for future – in anticipation of a time when I can do all the cross stitchings I want, any time I like. At the moment, I merely do the small, simple designs. The big ones are…ehem, somewhere…
Now, what do I do with simple, little charts? Well…. cards!
and more cards!
Having no flair for scrapbooking and decorating, I stock quite a few store-bought stickers and buttons. So, some cards, like this one, are stitched in advance, and will be personalized once the suitable time arrives.
I also stitch specialized cards for the many special occasions around me such as birthdays….
… and appreciations…
With the present unpredictable weather conditions, I think I need some ‘Get Well Soon’ card, too! 😀
What do you think?
