Since my last post, I’ve missed a few weeks of Yarn Along with Ginny. I have been on full gear knitting hats for my brother-in-law’s toddler son and his baby daughter which I managed to finish before Hari Raya. We were so engrossed with celebrating Aidilfitri that I forgot to snap photos of the finished pieces. I made them both using the same yarn mentioned in my previous post.
My current knit project is a hat for my son.
This one I started before Raya but so far, it’s progressing very slowly because the yarn is just medium sized and because other yarns are tempting me so much! I’m also doing knitting hat because I fear I may have to totally re-do this hat because it looks too small for my teenage son. Hahaha, sounds like excuses by a habitual project-starter!
I’ve almost finished reading The Road to Grace. It’s an interesting read because it’s written like a personal journal of the protagonist. At times it feels like intruding into the life of another individual. But it’s truly is a fiction.
One of the things I like about the book is that each chapter starts with a quote. I love this quote the most:
“As we walk our individual life journeys, we pick up resentments and hurts, which attach themselves to our souls like burrs clinging to a hiker’s socks. These stowaways may seem insignificant at first, but, overtime, if we do not occasionally stop and shake them free, the accumulation becomes a burden to our souls.”
There is a film recommended at the end of the book, including discussion notes, etc. I am looking forward to watching the movie, The Way, and also another recent film about walking, Wild (2015). Hope I can get both movies.
